A question with answers not spoken...

"I have been counseled to back down, to take it easy, to remember that there is more to this than a flash in the pan, a moment of explosion. I should wait, I know, but for what? The war started in Arizona a few weeks ago. It started in Indiana a few days before that. Those are the battles already lost. Those are the lines already drawn and violated. Now, we can all sit around and pretend that there is something bigger coming, that there will be a time to fight back, but that is a lie. The time is now. But, what to do, what to do, what to do?"

...What to indeed. Quite a question when answers are few and far between. And NO ONE is talking about meaningful solutions. The political end just keeps pig piling on the punishment for not submitting to their whim. The LEO's just do not want to be blamed or take self corrective action against their own rouge "sheepdogs". Meanwhile us mundanes sweat a traffic stop as a possible death sentence for a wrong move.

...The ruling class has set this nation up for this Mexican standoff. Maybe it is time to make them accountable for the carnage their policies have wrought. If the citizen and LEO at every level can realize that THEY are the ones responsible for this mess, and the CLEAN UP, things can get done. FACT is, the LE community HAS to stop treating citizens as perps uncaught and the enemy. Why? Because LEO's need US to help fight the REAL CRIMINALS.

But if all those groups can see is "their" entitlements, whatever they maybe, The laughter of Mordor will be our only reward...

...What to do? That IS the 64,000 dollar question.

Quote;

"We are imprinted to fear violence. The more security we gain, the more flight becomes the dominant instinct. The herd learns to run, hoping for security in numbers. "What of 3,000 dead," say the left, "far more die of cancer in a single year." That is the voice of the herd. The cows who dream of safety at the cost of the cattle ahead of them on the abattoir's long conveyor belt. The ostriches looking for utopia in the dirt covering their own heads. To such people, security equates to morality, and comfort becomes ethics. A refusal to risk one's life except by clambering up the occasional endangered tree becomes heroism. Bartleby and James Dean, the men who don't know why they say no, take the soldier's place in the hall of heroes.

Peace was not won for us by campus activists with kerchiefs shrieking into megaphones or bearded thinkers pontificating smugly about utopia. They have always been its greatest obstacles. For it is not some noble and glorious state. It is the absence of war. And war is only absent in the face of war. Our homes are not kept safe by the books in them, but by the weapons borne in their defense. So too no nation is kept safe from intruders by its libraries, but by its soldiers. Great libraries make great soldiers. But a library without soldiers ends up as the Great Library of Alexandria did when the Muslim horde arrived to claim it. As a pile of ashes."

...An incredible article. Please read it all, and understand.

My opinion....

I'm a relative newcomer to this world of Conservative Blogging and the Patriot Movement.  I've been reading a few of the blogs for a couple of years and posting on this blog for about 6 months.  Not a very long time....

I'll be the first to admit that the America we know today is not the America that I was born and raised in and it is not the America that I want for my children (all grown up now) and my grandchildren.

The Liberalization and Socialization of this country is destroying her from the inside out.  American exceptionalism is a dirty word.  It doesn't fit with the standards of Political Correctness that have slowly taken over our society.  PC is a smokescreen for creating a Socialist society here.  It has made us afraid to call out the people who do things that are not in the best interests of our country.  It affects everything we do.  It determines how local governments and businesses work.  It determines how we interact with every person that we come into contact with.  It is an artificial set of rules designed to prevent anyone from having hurt feelings.  I can't see it having any other purpose.  Well, it does prevent us from speaking up or acting when we know that we should.  It allows those who are willing to use it against us to control the outcome of the game.

I can remember taking my bat and glove and walking the mile or so to my school yard one summer day to "try out" for the local Optimist baseball league.  I was probably 10 years old.  I can remember walking home after tryouts with tears in my eyes because I failed to make the team.  I was devastated.  I thought the world was going to end.  When I told my Dad what had happened he told me that I'd have to try harder next year.  The 1960s were a tough time to be a kid :)

He was right, of course.  No one owed me a spot on the team.  I had to earn that on my own or I had to find something else to occupy my time.  I could complain and cry that it wasn't fair but what would that change?  The best ball players made the team.  I wasn't one of them.  I learned something from that.

It isn't unusual today for a parent to get up off the couch and call a coach or a team organizer to complain that their child should be allowed to do this or that.  That their child is being treated unfairly.  That their child is the best player on the team and should be treated as such.  Most often the coach will comply with the complaining parents wishes simply to avoid further confrontation.  How wrong is that?  Why doesn't that coach just say "Mr. Smith, Bobby isn't a good player.  He doesn't come to practice regularly and he doesn't listen to me nor does he put in a good effort when he does come to practice.  Therefore, Mr. Smith, Bobby will not be a starter.  He may not even dress for the game.  His future is in his own hands, Mr. Smith.  Whether he plays or not is up to him."

Parents run every aspect of their children's lives without putting much thought into what they are doing.  When those kids get older the same parents question why their kids can't make decisions on their own.  Especially good decisions.

It carries over into adult life, too.  When you apply for a job as a firefighter you must pass a written test and a physical agility test in order to be considered.  Unless you are a minority or female.  The tests are modified for them in order to allow more of these desired classes to pass and to be accepted.  Think of it what you will.  It's wrong and we've allowed it to happen.

There was a time in this country when her citizens took an active role in governing her.  People understood that they had to take that role or the politicians that they elected would take advantage of them.  When a mayor or congressmen did something that the people disapproved of, the people let him know, in no uncertain terms, that it was unacceptable.  Leaders listened.  They tried to do what was best for their constituents and the people as a whole.  If they didn't, they were fired at the next election.

We don't go to city council meetings or county board of supervisors meetings anymore.  That would interfere with our TV time.  We don't read the paper or keep up with current events anymore.  We don't go to the polls and vote anymore.  When we do vote, we are either uninformed or misinformed and we don't know who or what we are voting for.

Our public education system is a shambles.  We are a joke when compared to the rest of the modern world.  We have stopped teaching our kids the things that they need to know in order to be productive members of our society.  The basics.  Instead, we teach them multi-culturalism, multi-sexualism, entitlement, feel good measures.  If the coursework is too hard we simply lower the standards.

As parents, we don't teach responsibility.  We don't teach accountability.  As educators, we no longer teach reading, writing, and arithmetic.  We teach entitlement, whether it's government money or a place on the basketball team.  And we're ok with that because our stupid fat kids feel good about themselves.

We have aborted 50 million unborn babies since Roe v. Wade.  There's a statistic to be proud of.

The nation's debt has finally surpassed the total income of all of the citizens of this country.  We owe more than we earn.  Wow.

47% of the people in this country who were required to file a Federal 1040 in 2009 owed no taxes for the year.  A large number of those people received refunds greater than what they paid in.  That is a form of government welfare, plain and simple.  I have an employee who made $42,000.00 last year.  He has 5 kids and a wife.  Zero witholding during the year.  After filing taxes he received a check from the Fed for over $6000.00.  Remember that he didn't pay any Federal taxes during the year at all.  None.

What does all of this have to do with anything?  Everything.

We have allowed this to happen.  We were too busy with our boats and 4 wheelers and camping and fishing and hunting and screwing our neighbor's wife to be bothered with paying attention to what our government was doing.  We were watching the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, and NASCAR rather than paying attention to what was going on in our schools and our government.  We certainly couldn't find the time to go to a school board meeting to say "No!  I don't want 'Homesexuality as an Alternative Lifestyle' taught to my kids".  We didn't do anything to stop the birth control clinics from being placed in our schools.  Condoms and birth control pills along with free and reduced price lunches.  Rather than us teaching our kids responsibility and accountability, we allowed someone else to put clinics in the schools so the kids could "do what comes natural" and we held our breath and hoped for the best.  We turned the responsibility of teaching responsibility to our kids over to someone else and they failed miserably.

We didn't do anything when the law enforcement agencies started putting up cameras to watch our every move.  We accept the TSA and it's blatant 4th ammendment violations.  A few of us are offended  pissed off at the killing of Jose Guerena in Tucson.  A few of us think that SWAT teams and the militarization of our police forces is an over-reach of their authority.  What are we doing about it?  Remember that most of your fellow citizens don't care.  They don't care either because it hasn't directly affected them yet or because the media hasn't covered it.

Our government, and our society in general, are out of control.  We may grouse about it but, in the end, if it doesn't affect us directly, we don't care.

What should we do about it?  That's a difficult question.  Half of the population are Socialists.  They want the handouts that the government gives them.  Our public schools were taken over by the Socialists in the early 70s.  Today's teachers were taught in that system.  It's all they know.   It's self perpetuating.  We allowed it to happen.

"Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted." ~~Vladimir Lenin

There is plenty of talk of "revolution" or "civil war".  Talk of taking our country back "by any means necessary".

We stock up on guns and ammo, we stockpile food and supplies.  For what?  It may help get us through (a temporary) governmental and economic collapse and it may help us defend ourselves momentarily if the PoPo come banging on our doors in the middle of the night.  (We'll come up on the short end of that altercation, BTW.  It's the way it works.)  Believe me, the people in power aren't going to be part of the "die off" of those who haven't prepared.  They'll still be there to rule govern us.  They aren't going away.  They are organized.  The "resistance" is not.

I read plenty of thoughts on operating within one's personal A.O. and I hear a lot of anger, but what about the "Big Picture"?   Who is going to run the show?  Where's the strategic planning?
There is a lot of tactical planning but there doesn't appear to be any thought toward "what comes after".  Who takes over the governance of the country?  Surely not those in government today?  They are the ones we have allowed to create the problems we are suffering today.

Do we just devolve into anarchy?  That appears to be the course we would take.  Perhaps in a hundred years or so a new government would develop.  In the meantime we just step back to the pre-industrial era and start over.  Perhaps that isn't such a bad idea, though I think the Globalists have different plans for us.

How do we get to where we want to be?

Hmmmmm.....  How did the civil rights movement of the 60s succeed?  Participation.  People getting off their couches and hitting the streets.  They didn't stop until they got what they were after.  They made the compromises they needed to but they never quit.  In fact, they were successful because they had a plan.  They had a vision.

How did the hippies of the 60s and early 70s get Nixon to end the draft war in Viet Nam?  They (loosely) organized.  They hit the streets every day until Nixon announced that the draft would end.  (The war ended shortly thereafter)  They were never really protesting the war.  They were all of draft age and that's what they were protesting.  The draft.  The war was inconvenient as long as the draft existed.  Those same people are now running the businesses that got the bailouts and the government that gave the bailouts to them.  Funny how that works.

It takes people getting off their asses and hitting the streets.  Do you think that 10,000 people demonstrating every weekend in Tucson would get Sheriff Dupnik to rethink the need for SWAT in that city?

Would 100,000 people on the mall in Washington every weekend get the PTB to rethink the current violations of our constitutional rights?  Or in Des Moines or Springfield or any other state capitol?  Perhaps the focus should be on States Rights?

How have the unions been so successful in getting what they want?  They get people off their asses and hit the streets.  They get loud and in your face until their demands (or an acceptable compromise) are met.

T.L. Davis had the right idea last year with The Guardians of Liberty.  I know Mr. Davis only through his blog and a few personal emails that were sent back and forth between us, but I respect him greatly.  He believed in what he was doing and he sacrificed greatly to follow through on his beliefs.  Sadly, it didn't work out.  That certainly doesn't mean that it can't work out.  The question is whether or not it's too late.

The problem, as I see it, is that we're a bunch of Conservatives.  We are different than the Liberals who have taken this country over.  Liberals want to know about and control every facet of your life.  They want to take your money to create an impossible Utopia.  They will get in your face, they will belittle you and call you names, they will do whatever is necessary to have the last word.  They don't think.  They are emotional and everything that they say or do is based on that emotion.  The mentality of the herd rules their lives.

Conservatives just want to be left alone to live their lives quietly.  They want to be able to elect their leaders and trust that things will be taken care of properly and honestly.  They want to keep most of what they earn and they want to decide for themselves who, if anyone, to give the spoils of their labor to.  They want to be fair and honest and they expect the same from those they meet.  They believe in individual responsibility and individual accountability.

Our government is doing everything in it's power to keep the two sides apart.  The Conservatives and the Liberals will not even sit down and talk to each other.  Compromise isn't in the vocabulary anymore.  Uncontrolled immigration and "multiculturism" are destroying our identity.  No one has the balls to demand that coming to America requires becoming an American.  Globalism will fail.  Socialism has failed everywhere that it's been tried.  Multiculturism is failing all over Europe.  National identities are falling by the wayside.

So, how do we fix the mess we've allowed ourselves to be drug into?  I still believe that it can be done.  I still believe that Americans are different than other people.  I still believe that Americans are exceptional.  America is more than a country on a map.  America is a state of mind, an idea.  We will have failed when we all believe the Socialists, the Globalists, the Statists....   They are wrong.

I still believe in the goodness of America and Americans.  Tell me, is it too late to fix it without widespread violence and upheaval?

My rant is over.  Words on a screen.

Stay safe.

Jose Guerena Memorial Day March

...Here is some story backround...

...March pictures here.

Here is the offenders at play...

“What better way to honor our war dead and veterans this Memorial Day than to defend our Constitution and our God given rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, which is what they all fought, bled, and died for? This policy of using SWAT to serve search warrants on veterans and gun owners simply because they are armed, and where there is no long history of violent crime, has got to stop. I think taking a stand over the use of the Pima County Regional SWAT against this young Marine in Tucson is a good place to start.” – Stewart Rhodes

Rifleman Savant makes this observation about the excuses for official violence...

"Jose Guereña wanted to come home at the end of his next shift too, you fucking jackasses."

...and finishes with this;

Yes, the cops are the "standing army" the Founders warned us about. Even if you believe that our overseas military marauding does nothing but endanger our interests, safety and security, that's still all entirely theoretical compared to what's happening every goddamn day here at home, at the nightsticks, Taser barbs, and muzzles of the Fatherland Security State. (You've stopped pretending and just call it what it is now, right?)

Word.

Here is a VERY interesting take on SWAT operations. from Confederate Yankee. Make sure you READ and UNDERSTAND it. It may just shed some light on that dim bulb of yours...

Jet Planes and Helicopters, how irregular forces negate air power

The US had air superiority in Vietnam.  The USSR had air superiority in Afghanistan.  Victory through Air Power right?  Wrong.

Americans in 1950 rediscovered something that since Hiroshima they had forgotten: you may fly over a land forever; you may bomb it, atomize it, pulverize it and wipe it clean of life—but if you desire to defend it, protect it and keep it for civilization, you must do this on the ground, the way the Roman legions did, by putting your young men in the mud. "
— T.R. Fehrenbach

T.R. was talking about Korea, but even by putting boots on the ground in Vietnam the wars were not decisively won.  Third generation warfare CANNOT be decisively won.  Third generation warfare is not won on the battlefield where decisive engagements take place, it is won on the political scene by the will of the people being represented by the government of their choosing (and while there are those who believe we are in 4th Gen or even 5th Gen warfare, the differences aren't enough to worry about).

I don't believe that the North Vietnamese wanted "communism" other than it represented their first real chance for a truly native government in CENTURIES.  I don't believe that the Mujahadeen were fighting Communists for anything other than the same view on self determination.  Man, self determination is a helluva reason to fight isn't it?

So how did the Muj in the desert and mountains and the VC/NVA in the jungles, deal with the worlds two most powerful Air Forces?  They didn't.  They hid whenever they could.  They fought the ground forces that they could, and slowly built capacity through OUTSIDE HELP to get heavy weapons capable of attacking LOW FLYING AIRCRAFT.  Fast movers were shot down as well, but at the time North Vietnam had more SAMS than any other place on the planet.

Guerrilla warfare ain't sexy.  Lots of people die.

In Vietnam three .51 caliber machine guns would be place into a triangle formation pointing inward, when a helicopter flew through the "kill zone" the ambush would kick off and the pilot would have to react to contact from three directions.  The idea was to "overwhelm" the pilots ability to process data, or "get inside his OODA loop".  What is funny is that I didn't learn about this technique from studying Vietnam, I learned about it from Iraq.  But the Iraqi insurgents were just recycling Vietnamese tactics.  Shame on me for not knowing that sooner.

So, don't have your cache of supplies and munitions out in the middle of nowhere.  A Predator or Reaper flying at oh damn feet above reality will call down the wrath of God quick fast and in a hurry.  Your cache sights need to be in a place where you have a reason to be so that you don't raise suspicion by being there, have overhead cover to mask your activities and normal traffic to and from so that your movement doesn't stand out.

You know who will have freedom of movement?  Appliance delivery trucks, plumbers, carpenters, and such in the service or skilled labor industries.  Need to move that SVD from Baghdad to Baqubah?  Why not break it into components and stuff it in the empty space of a washing machine between the drum and cover?  Need a new barrel for your Savage or AR?  Call a plumber to come and fix your leak or place a bid estimate on a bathroom remodel.  In Iraq large scale smuggling operations happened using gravel trucks (and are probably still happening).  But just like the French Partizans or other operating under an oppressive occupying regime, make sure your paperwork is in order for the inevitable "flash traffic control point" that will pop up.

So you don't have to take the Chinese Spy Satellite out of the sky to deny the .gov any actionable intelligence.  You just have to be smart, accept that the Chinese can fly over Tibet with impunity, and build robust networks on the ground.  Once you have the ground networks in place to RECEIVE the munitions to destroy aircraft, DISTRIBUTE those munitions to the appropriate cells and destinations, and COORDINATE attacks and resupply, just like the Muj did against the Soviets.

To sum it up, when the big dog controls the skies it LIMITS but does not stop the underdog from conducting operations.  Stupid underdogs get spotted, and then they get killed.  The Big Dog tries to fight an intelligence driven fight, so not sticking out like a sore thumb from an overhead perspective keeps the under dog from providing the Big Dog intelligence.  Cause as the US and USSR learned the hard way, it isn't the size of the dog in the fight, it is the size of the fight in the dog that wins in irregular warfare.

Whiskey

Whiskey has an interesting history here in these United States.  The process of aging distilled grain spirits in oak barrels came across with Scot and Irish immigrants.  And shortly after the US Constitution was ratified the former war hero elected president gathered the Army and put down the "Whiskey Rebellion" setting a precedent that lead to "posse commitatus" after the unCivil War.

But enough about politics, and back to whiskey.  Whiskey is wood flavored vodka, for all intents and purposes.  Distillers like to talk about their mash recipe, so much corn to wheat to rye to barley, but the grain spirit that comes off the distilling column really doesn't care too much.  A perfect distilling column would have only water and ethanol coming off as a product, so any "impurities" from the mash that add to the flavor profile is simply a lucky accident.

Now what separates rotgut whiskey from to die for premium whiskey is all in the aging process.  Bourbon in Kentucky has to sit in the barrels for three years to be called bourbon.  The US standard is two years in the barrel.  Corn whiskey in the US can be aged in an uncharred barrel.

Scotch whiskey takes those once used American barrels and uses them to age Scotch whiskey.  One of the reasons why Scotch Whiskey is lighter in color and has a different flavor profile than the bourbon whiskey that came from the same barrel.

So, the big point is that the flavor of whiskey is all about the wood.  The quality of distilled spirit going in does have a say, but the vast majority is the barrel.  Now most Bourbon get the flavor solely from the charred white oak barrel, but I purchased a bottle of "Maker's Mark 46" which adds charred French Oak staves for the final aging of the whiskey.  This gives the whiskey a different character, it tastes (amazingly enough) like Maker's Mark, but with a little extra thrown in.  More "spice" a huge vanilla/honey/cinnamon flavor that lingers like spices at Christmas time.  It is a good whiskey.

But back to some interesting facts about whiskey, at some points it has been used for currency.  Alcohol remains such a profitable black market item that the ATF continues to hunt down moonshiners.  Distilling might be a useful skill to have if our currency collapses.  Because the .gov will never lighten up on taxes on alcohol, and people without a lot of money will get their drink on one way or another.

R.I.P. Gil Scott Heron

Gil Scott Heron just passed away-vocalist, poet, prophet- narrator of American Tragedies large and small. The pain he
documented was inside him too, giving his work even greater power. No illusions and fictions, even those we used to keep
going day to day, escapted his sharp eye and poetic imagination. He was there when Sixties dreams collapsed in the wake
of drug epidemmics, de-industrialization, benign neglect ( of the Black and poor) and rampant connsumerism. His vision was as once
global, and deeply intimate. He could write about the aches we have inside with the same eloquence he applied to the nation's devolution
into cynicism.and material excess. Inside his musical universe, rage and irony coexised uneasily with tenderness and compassion and moments of startling beauty. There was no artist of his era who could match his range, his depth, his integrity, or deep vulnerability. That he lived as
long as he did, given alll he went through, is a kind of miracle, and the music he left us is the closest thing to a National Conscience we may ever find, save for the speeches of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. When I need to explain what I see happening in America today, which is a nation turning its backs on its most vulnerable while leaving wealth and privilege untouched, I find myself turning over and over again to songs which Gil Scott Heron wrote thirty and forty years ago

R.I.P. Gil. I share the song below with friends in your memory

Considerations for irregular warfare against a mounted threat

All government forces do it, they become "vehicle centric" or "road centric" in the application of force.

There are several reasons for this, the first and foremost is that a bad ride beats a good walk.  The increased mobility, and capability for firepower makes it a no brainer that if you have the ability to use vehicles to transport people and firepower you should make use of that ability.

So how did the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan prevail against the Soviets?  The same way the Viet Cong prevailed against the might of the US.  They won the public relations war by using whatever resources they had to stay in the fight.  And they died by the MILLIONS compared to the tens of thousands of US and USSR soldiers killed in battle.

So, say you are like the VC or the Muj and have decided that "enough is enough" and are willing to fight and DIE for your beliefs?  Well then you need to start thinking about how to negate the enemies strengths at a tactical level.

I will ignore air power for now, because that will require another post later.

But vehicles come in two basic varieties, "thin skinned" and armored.  Most police forces will only have one or two "armored" vehicles for use by their SWAT or SRT unit, so you can expect the ubiquitous Ford Crown Victoria to be basically stock from the factory.

If you can, taking out the driver is the best way to stop the mobility advantage of any vehicle.  If you can't do that then a mobility kill is the next best.  The worst option against a thin skinned vehicle is a "total kill" because it requires so many resources.

So lets us talk about taking out the driver.  You need a heavy bullet going at moderate velocity to get through the windshield.  5.56 won't cut it.  308 is a good starting point.  Bigger is better.  I wouldn't say a 375H&H is overkill when dealing with a "barrier shot" and solid bullets get through barriers better than anything else.

If you just want to kill the vehicle but not the driver consider the ever popular "Molatov Cocktail" that can get those tires burning really well.  Imagine what a few balloons filled with diesel launched onto a vehicle parking lot and then ignited could do to the mobility assets of the government forces.  It is always easier to sabotage a parked vehicle than destroy a moving one.

And finally, the complete and utter destruction of a vehicle.  This means things like big guns, big missiles, or large amounts of explosives.  Since IEDs are simple to make I won't go into them here, and google will tell anyone more than enough to construct an effective IED.  Heck illiterate tribesmen can manage to cook up some Home Made Explosive (HME) big enough to take out vehicles in Afghanistan.

So, take a look at what you have.  To take out the driver you need something big and heavy going fast.  A 12 guage shotgun shooting sabot slugs is a great option for 200 meters and under.  Even if the government forces recover the slug, there are no rifling marks because of the sabot.  A heavy small bore or medium bore rifle is another good choice WITH APPROPRIATE BULLETS.  A rifle like Savage with the simple ability to swap barrels would be a good way to "hide" the evidence of from rifling signature to government forensic teams.  Of course if you are freedom fighter in Zimbabwe, forensics aren't much of an issue are they?

And lastly, to destroy a vehicle it is easier to burn it while parked than blow it up on the move.  But you can stop a vehicle on the move through impromptu roadblocks like the Somalis did in Mogadishu.

Remember, when the people fight the government the dieing is usually on the peoples side, but with determination the people win.  And EVERY high tech advantage has some low tech negation or vulnerability.

We are all JOSE GUERENA now...

Rant *On*. Choke on Your Memorial Day, America.

Quote;

"I am completely unable to get Jose Guerena's murder out of my head.

Maybe it's because I know I too respond to unknown situations in my home with a rifle in hand.

Maybe it's because I know I'd damned sure respond armed and ready if my door were being kicked in. In fact, if my door were kicked in, it's safe to say my selector switch would not be on "safe" (spare me the range safety lessons and read on, please).

That could have been me helplessly bleeding out on my own floor. That could have been my wife held outside as I died on my floor.

I AM JOSE GUERENA.

If I hear "Freedom Isn't Free", one more time, I'm going to explode. Just shut up with it. Now.

Our freedom was not won or lost in Germany, France, Vietnam, Guadalcanal, Iraq, or Afghanistan. Don't get me wrong, I'm not demeaning what went on in those places. I am not making light of the sacrifices of those who fought in those places, only emphasizing our utter failure as citizens. Stay with me here. Freedom isn't free, and we've sold ours, or worse, given it away. A soldier can defend liberty in faraway places, but it is not his role to defend it on our shores. That is your job, and it is mine.

In this, we are abject failures.

Our nation, our ideals, our liberty has been lost, in peacetime, at home, by us.

WHAT IN THE HOLY HELL IS WRONG WITH US?"

Free North Carolina has picked up the call also.

...Hello, Bueller? Does any of what Ronald has to say sound even remotely familiar??

Let the blogshpere, then the streets, then the halls of "power" and the ears of those who would be our masters ring with this call;

I AM JOSE GUERENA.

Because whether you would have it or not, Open war is upon you whether you would risk it or not. UPON YOU. On your children, your family, your countrymen, your America.

The sooner you realize it, the soon we can fix it. The less painful it will be to fix it. As with any wound, let it fester and the treatment becomes more harsh. Until it becomes untreatable...

WE are all those "unpopular" persons who We the People have allowed to be subjected to violent, undeserved, un-America treatment over the years because "they" became a threat to the powers that be.

WE are now those becoming that threat to the powers that be.

"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward." — Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

One Bird and the Flock

“If a man could make the right choices,” he said, “then he could significantly alter the course of the possible future. No man, then, should feel insignificant, for it only takes one man to alter the consciousness of mankind through the Spirit-that-moves-in-all-things. In essence, one thought influences another, then another, until the thought is made manifest throughout all of Creation. It is the same thought, the same force, that causes an entire flock of birds to change course, as the flock then has one mind...I suspect that it is but one bird that creates the thought that turns the flock, and the one thought becomes immediately manifested in all the others. The individual then transcends self and becomes one with the whole. Thus, at once, the bird moves within the flock and the flock moves within the bird. So, then, do not ask what you can do to affect the life force in a positive way, for the same Spirit that moves within the birds also moves within you. One person, one idea, one thought can turn the flock of society away from the destructive path of modern times. It is not a question as to whether we make a difference, for we all make a difference, each of us in our own way. It is the difference we make that is important.”

Rant *On*. Choke on Your Memorial Day, America.

I am completely unable to get Jose Guerena's murder out of my head.

WHAT IN THE HOLY HELL IS WRONG WITH US?

We host parades, and speeches, and put flowers on graves, and talk reverently of "the brave folks who died for our freedom", AND SIT BACK AND RELAX AS POLICE RAIDS OCCUR DAILY THAT WOULD HAVE MADE THE GESTAPO AND THE KGB / NKVD PROUD!

At least their secret police didn't usually murder their victims outright.

There are not riots in our streets, America.  Indiana is quiet.  Arizona is quiet.  We are all quiet tonight.

We have accepted Guerena's murder.

WHAT DAMNED RIGHT DO WE HAVE TO PRETEND WE HONOR OUR DEAD VETERANS???

WHAT IN HOLY HELL GIVES US THE RIGHT TO PRETEND WE ARE THE IDEOLOGICAL DESCENDANTS OF THE MEN WHO STOOD ON LEXINGTON GREEN???

It is our meek acceptance of what has happened to our country that makes it possible for his murderers to go to work everyday, attend their Crossfit sessions, and generally live in complete and utter disdain and lack of fear of the people they kill and oppress.

Don't fool yourself, "patriot".

Your government does not fear you in the least.

This is not about the "drug war", or the use of military force to kill a man who could have been simply arrested as he left for work or went for groceries (It is way easier to kick in a door and kill the suspect than it is to gather evidence, however).  It's not about if he had a rifle in hand, or whatever other extraneous bit of disinformation is thrown our way.  I don't care about that.

This is about the sanctity of the home, sure, but more importantly, it is about the assumed and demonstrated right and ability of our government, at any level, to kill with impunity,

any

citizen

it

wishes.

We are there, people.

We are bloody there.

So, happy Memorial Day, America.

Celebrate with your beers and cookouts and obesity and subservience.  Celebrate how we urinate on the graves of the dead as we indulge in nationwide gluttony.  I bet the glorious, brave, heroic hit team that gallantly pumped 60 rounds into Guerena's body will have a hell of a celebration this weekend.  Maybe on the taxpayers' dime.

Choke on your Memorial Day, America.  I know I have.

For meekly accepting the murder of Jose Guerena, as well as the countless others who have been killed with impunity by our government, we're not worthy of the blood that has been spilled on our behalf.

I honor Jose Guerena this Memorial Day, not as a Marine or veteran of Iraq (which he undeniably was), but as a fallen American hero, slain by the bullets of malignant and hostile enemy forces while acting the man and defending his home.  Slain by people he paid, with bullets and weapons he bought.

It is, indeed, us vs. them.

I can no longer see it in any other light.

Remember Jose Guerena.

Welcome to the Insurgency.

Enjoy your hot dogs and parades.

I'm staying home.

Your Recommendations?

Your recommendations for plate carriers?

I know this will draw howls of dismay from the light-fighter purist crowds, but do any of you have recommendations on plate carriers/armor systems that are somewhat affordable for lowly civilians?

I'm not all that interested in the human tank-like Interceptor system, but rather in something more like this, this, or this, something to throw on when investigating bumps in the night or being shot sixty times in the course of illegal paramilitary police raids/hits.

Not like much could help a fellow who is shot over sixty times by arrogant, puffed up SWAT assassins.

I still say that your average multi-million dollar SWAT team couldn't stand for a second against an average squad of infantrymen.

Bullies do the best when they have all the advantages.

Oh dear, there I go again, getting sidetracked.

I'd better go do something more pleasurable than thinking about MURDERERS AND ASSASSINS IN POLICE UNIFORMS.

I think I'll go clean the chicken coop.

Seriously though, your thoughts and recommendations on plate carriers would be appreciated.

"Fifth gradient war (5GW)) takes this to the next level. It moves from violent crime to manipulation of information and identity at a level where practitioners are recognized neither as soldiers or criminals. Instead we are back to individuals and small groups, empowered by technologies and often removed from one another, who act to shape their environment-particularly the nonphysical environment-in ways that are not clear. (money lines here) The conflict is not to conquer the state, or to divide the state, but to undermine the state. It is not so much to rule as it is to make certain nobody else can. There are no warnings, no communiques, no explanations. Only events which may or may not be random. If a 5GW is successful, a target state will have so lost its legitimacy that it cannot be certain of anyone's primary loyalty."

Baugh to WRSA Readers

Baugh's latest, via WRSA

In the early months of 2010 I had a conversation with some ex-friends regarding a recent event of the day. "Woe unto us", they exclaimed, rending their garments. "Those poor unfortunates," they sighed. "What a terrible man," they gasped. I sat impassively until the baton had passed around a couple of times. My contribution? "Shit comes around." (Hence the "ex-friends" portion of the program in case you didn't see that coming). Indeed it does come around, and we should not be surprised in the moment as we see it passing by. Sometimes, unfortunates have nothing left to lose, and we're manufacturing them by the gross these days.

Compare this reaction to that of some in the LibertySphere at the time. Self-purported e-leaders and chest-beaters backpedaled furiously, and participated in all manner of ad-hominem trying to scrub their public images. "We didn't mean THAT, of course. Look what a horrible man he is. Not representative of US at all. No sir."

Weeze be good, boss.

Scroll forward to the present. The shit is coming around again, don't you agree?
Ugliness is coming.

When it arrives, in whatever form, accept it.

I can only imagine that Mr. Baugh is referencing the wholesale panic on the "right" / liberty sphere after the Giffords shooting.  She was the anti-liberty extremist who got shot by a guy in Arizona, remember?

(Side note: Hey Mr. English Professor aka "anonymous" commenter guy ... look, I put the period after "Mr" ... you happy?)

Posts abounded, as Baugh asserts, linking Loughner to the occult, and insanity, and all manner of weird and nefarious things, in an attempt to say, "I'm not like him", and to condemn his actions.

Funny how quick everyone (especially those claiming to trust the .gov the least) is to buy the propaganda hook, line, and sinker.  I'm not saying that Loughner was a well adjusted fellow, but I am saying that if any person did such an act, FedGov would be quick to pump its story to the compliant press.  This exact thing has happened in my town, way up here in Alaska.  It will never allow the story of an average, normal American losing it with the government, as that would not serve its purposes.  Any and everyone who acts against the government will be either a kitten torturer, psycho, pervert, satanist, neo-Nazi, racist, religious fanatic, on and on.  The US government does the same thing to its enemies, whether foreign nations or citizens, time and time again.  Isolate.  Demonize.  Crush.

Anyway, I digress.

The tempo at which "bad things" happen in this nation is going to increase.

Is.

Stuff comes around.

Baugh: Why I Don't Fear Islam

Why I Don't Fear Islam, by Tom Baugh

This is why I don’t fear Islam.
No, I fear something worse than Islam.

I fear a system which makes an Islamic takeover possible. I fear a system which made a banco-nationalist takeover possible. I fear a system which can be perverted by any group into inordinate power by a few. Islamic, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, atheist, it doesn’t matter. Religion doesn’t matter in this equation, either. Hetro, homo, metro or undecided. Monogamy, polygamy or autogamy, feminist or macho, misogynist or misandrist. Bankist or Marxist. Rightist or leftist, liberal or conservative, progressive or regressive. Hell’s Angels or Heaven’s Demons. Pick any ist you wish. Any one of them in control of this machine of death and accelerating poverty is a bad thing.
I've said much the same before.  Islam is powerless without a compliant government.

American Mercenary- Human Network Analysis

Human Network Analysis, by American Mercenary.

The lack of anonymity that comes hand-in-hand with the internet works both ways.

PT- Bodyweight Strength Training

I've written before on the subject of PT, and I gave a basic outline of a high intensity/low volume weightlifting routine I've been following.  It's worked well, and I've made significant gains, both in strength, size, and appearance.

While lifting a while ago, a friend came in the gym and started doing handstand pushups.  I was impressed, but dismayed to discover I could barely push out one rep, in spite of my lifting progress.  This friend does almost nothing but bodyweight calisthenics.

I thought that calisthenics weren't much good for strength gains, but this friend introduced me to a book that turned what I thought on its head.  This book is full of bodyweight training progressions that are challenging and reasonable for all levels of fitness.  Following the steps outlined in this book will result in gains, and the gains will be noticeable in terms of real, useable strength, stamina, and power.

The book covers six major compound exercises, including the pushup, pullup, squat, bridge, leg raise, and handstand pushup.  Each exercise progression culminates in the hardest version of each exercise.  In pushups, the one armed pushup is the end of the program, as well as the one legged squat, the one armed pullup, the stand-to-stand bridge, hanging leg raises, and the one armed handstand pushup.

While I'm not quite ready to leave my weights in favor of this program, I am working it into my routine and so far I'm pleased with the results.  I was surprised at the difficulty of some of the exercises; finding my place in the program was a little bit humbling.

The name of the book is "Convict Conditioning", available on Amazon, but only on Kindle (or Kindle for PC) for right now.  (And yes, if you click on my link and buy something, anything, whether this book or something else, I'll get a little bit of money -to spend on preps- at no cost at all to you...)  It's available elsewhere for a bit more, just try Googling the book's name.

The only negative comment I have about the book has to do with the pictures, which are a little over the top, in my opinion.  They actually are quite helpful, but the photos go a bit out of their way to continue and embellish the "Convict" and prison theme.

Anyway, any PT program is better than none, whether it's weights, cardio, calisthenics, walking, or whatever.  Any amount of intensity is better than none at all.

You get one body in this life.  Take care of it.

Strength and fitness is like experience, in that there's no way to magically produce it when you need it most.
(A wise old man told me once that experience is what you get right after you needed it.)  In order to be strong when it counts, you must put strength "in the bank" over time.

Right now, in my opinion, is a great time to be doing PT.  There's enough outrage in the world to fuel the PT of an army of Spartans.  Thermopolae would not have happened without a cohesive unit of strong men.  If the Spartans and Leonidas had the fitness level of the average American, they wouldn't have even been a speed bump for the god-king Xerxes and his army.

Get fit.  Your life, or those of the people you love and value, may someday depend on it.

Resist.

Two seperate problems that may solve each other.

Sometimes I have "pie in the sky" daydreams that make me look deeper into issues.

Two issues that have been on my mind; The "drainage of the Ogallala Aquifer" and the routine flooding of the Mississippi River.

Too much water in one place, not enough in another.  The real question becomes how to move millions of gallons of water.  The northeastern portion of the Ogallala is in Nebraska, so that seems to be the natural point of attack for putting water on the soil into the soil.

A pie in the sky solution would be thus...

A couple hundreds miles of large diameter pipe, say 8 feet (or even the huge 20'x10' flood control pipes used beneath Las Vegas), and some strong pumps (such as the type used to keep New Orleans dry), and you have a way of reducing the effects of flooding and refilling the aquifer...

A tougher but more realistic solution would involve some really expensive tunnel boring machines....

Anyways, I don't think anyone has ever tried to "refill" an aquifer before, so the real question would be aquifer absorption rate.  It doesn't do any good to move flood water if the aquifer cannot absorb it in a reasonable time span.  I guess maybe I'll have to wait for another planet before I start any real terraforming...

But anyways, it is more feasible than harnessing the power of earthquakes...

What do you think....?

"We are witnessing the unprecedented takeover of the mass psyche of not only this country, but the world in general. Any part of the world that has access to the mass media, propagated of course and injected into the subconscious by television primarily. I believe now that the mass media combine in this country, whether it be people magazine in print, whether it be MTV and all rest of the visual media, whether it be audio through the music, it doesn’t matter. I believe that combine of media is now to a large degree the actual virtual consciousness and brain of the majority of the masses of this country. I believe it thinks for them, I believe it decides for them, I believe they are hopelessly and irrevocably consulting with it 24 hours a day without even knowing it, because of the ability to project into the subconscious and the conscious mind all the time the imagery, the thoughts, the processes, the boundaries. I believe we are living now with people in a secondary role to a virtual consciousness and brain that has been created with utter and full intent."   ~~Jeff Rense

Of course Rense is a crazy man.  Radical Liberal or crazy Conservative.  Both, perhaps?  Neither?  Perhaps non-definable.  Perhaps correct.  :)  Scary, eh?  Whoa!  Maybe he's the only one who is sane?

Possibly 5% of the population question the government/media/industrial/business establishment.  That isn't very many questioners.  The balance, the other 95%, meekly follow along.  Why would that be?  Why would so few question the blatantly obvious criminality that occurs at all levels of life in Amerika?  How can it be possible that so few are willing to think in this country?  Perhaps they aren't capable of thought, especially original thought?  What percentage of the 5% who do think are willing to speak up?  What percentage are willing to take action?  You will have to use your own deductive reasoning and critical thinking ability to solve that one.  Ya gotta love it, eh?

I admit that the stated 5% statistic, like most statistics, is an arbitrary number.  I made it up.  It is, though, made up based loosely on my day to day interaction with the 200 or so people who are employed by the company that I manage.  If anything, the 5% estimate is probably on the generous side.  I'm a bit of an optimist.  LOL.

While you're enjoying your beers and picnics and the recreational activities that you will be participating in this weekend, take a moment to consider the men and women who have given their lives for you so that you can continue to enjoy these freedoms.  Take a moment to consider also, that these freedoms are rapidly disappearing.  Understand that the vast majority of your fellow citizens are oblivious to this.  They don't know and they don't care.

Stay safe.

Human Network Analysis

One single targeting packet is good at planning an operation against one individual.

But what about targeting an organization?  What are the steps in the process to identify a whole network of humans, and how do you identify the weak points in that network to degrade effectiveness?

First off, you need to start with a big white space, either a whiteboard, butcher block paper, or even something as simple as Microsoft One Note.

Then you need to put EVERYTHING you know about that organization on the board.  Pictures of people, places, known meeting locations, known vehicles, known phone numbers, EVERYTHING.  Every picture you put on the board needs to have a folder of its own to put everything you know about it in one place.

Then you start drawing lines between things as you identify the relationships between them.  Remember how La Raza was targeting Sheriff Dupnik in the targeting packet example?  Well lets keep going and place Sheriff Dupnik in the center of our board.  Now lets place a picture of his house, and his car next to him.  Then place pictures of each of the three Sheriff's Offices on the board.

One person is not a network, so we need to put another person on the board, lets assume that the comment left by "intel cell" identifying SGT Bob Krygier is accurate (a quick Google search confirms that it is), and do the same targeting packet workup on him that we did on Sheriff Dupnik.  Spokeo.com comes back with two addresses for "Robert Krygier", one of which, 4601 E Skyline Dr, Apt 1104 Tucson, AZ 85718, is on the northern portion of Tucson bordering the Saguaro National Park, which is a great opportunity for escape and evasion.  The other address, 6240 N Camino De Corozal Tucson, AZ 85704, gives a residential house with a wall located near the Air Force Base.  A harder target, but near a major freeway for ease of escape and evasion.

Once we do the basic online research, we can start doing the basic foot pounding intel gathering needed to flesh out the targeting packet.  Every time SGT Krygier is photographed with another individual, it becomes incumbent on the intel gatherer to identify that person and update the links on the whiteboard.

You can use social networking sights like myspace, linkdin, facebook, etc to help in your network link analysis.

Once you have ENOUGH information on the board to IDENTIFY KEY LINKS you can begin to selectively target those key relationships to DEGRADE the effectiveness of the network.  This is how the FBI takes on organized crime, and this is how the military works on terror networks.

And what do you do when you find out that a piece of information on your board is not relevant?  You take it off and put it into the related targeting packet and erase the links.  Say the gray mini-van was relevant until Sheriff Dupnik sold it, or that the apartment associated with Bob Krygier was just where he lived when he moved from Ohio until he bought the house near the Air Force Base.

Intel gathering is never done, but having an 80% solution from open source intel allows you to focus your boots on the ground intel gathering to fill in the gaps.  But don't forget to continue to look for other people in the network, like Detectives Farmer and Tzystuck

There are toys available such as security cameras that anyone can use to set up surveillance, but the techniques remain the same, you have to know enough about your target to know where to place the toys.

Three Little Pigs

A pertinent rendition of The Three Little Pigs, from an associate, "John"... brilliant...

Once upon a time there were three little pigs who had come of age and ventured out into the free world to chase their dreams in a capitalistic society.

The first little pig set out to live a humble life.  Biblical studies was his number one passion in life.  He chose to not let himself get caught up in all the external things - what you might call worldly possessions - so he built himself a house of straw.  Truth be told, he paid cash to build the straw house; thus he was mortgage free and able to enjoy his second passion: target shooting.

He didn't mind hunting, but he absolutely enjoyed plinking.  Not many people knew this, but he had quite a collection of rifles he had collected from his youth.  Most of the rifles were .22 LR.  Not only were these rifles ideal for target shooting, but the ammo was relatively inexpensive; so he could spend hours at the range.

The second little pig was gifted mechanically and, not surprisingly, he loved cars.  He opened his own repair shop where he turned auto repair into an art form.  It wasn't long before his shop was the most reputable shop in the county.

Enjoying the fruits of his labor he also built a house.  He chose to build one out of sticks.  Not only did he feel this was stronger than a straw house, it simply suited his tastes.

The third little pig was a unique fellow; he could have been anything he wanted.  In fact, he was voted by his graduating class as the most likely to succeed.  From athletics to business he was an instant success.  And then the events of 9/11 shook him to his core.  He finally understood the freedom he had enjoyed his whole life and that this very freedom was in jeopardy.  There were actually those in the world who thought pigs were vile and sought to destroy them.

For the first time, this little pig felt a sense of destiny.  He knew he could not merely enjoy the freedoms others had secured for him without doing his part to help secure freedom for other pigs and his own piglets.  So he enlisted in the Marine Corps (he thought about the Air Force, but we all know pigs don't fly).

Upon his return, he purchased a solid house of bricks.  He had served multiple tours overseas fighting for the freedoms of other pigs.  Now he wanted to come home to his family and raise his piglets to live lives of character and honor.

One night, a pack of wolves, crept up on the first little pig's house of straw.  They had received a report from a "concerned citizen" about a pastor in their town who had guns.  The "concerned citizen" was afraid that he might be some crazed cult leader; after all, what sort of pastor has guns?

The wolves were able to confirm the pastor had purchased a couple of rifles in the past year.  So, between this evidence and the reports of the "concerned citizen," the wolves decided they would ensure they didn't end up with another Waco.

As the wolves approached the door one quietly whispered, "Open the door and let us in."

Though it was never confirmed, the official reports claim the little pig responded, "Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin."

The little pig's house of straw didn't stand a chance.  The door easily came off the hinges as the wolves made their way through the door.  The flash-bang set the place ablaze.  Though the little pig avoided being roasted, his house was destroyed, his collection of firearms was confiscated and declared to be an "arsenal," and despite the wrongful arrest, he lost his reputation and career.

There was not much public outcry over the first little pig, and as a result the wolves were emboldened.

The wolves had tracked a car of similar make and model to one that had been seen leaving a recent drug raid.  The first assumption that was made was this must be the same car they had seen earlier - what are the odds of a town having two cars of the same make and model?  The second assumption made was that the second little pig must somehow be involved in dealing drugs since the car was at his shop.

Under the cover of darkness (for this is where the wolves love to hide) the pack of wolves crept up to the second little pig's house of sticks.  Reaching the door, the first wolf whispered, "Open the door and let us in."

The media reported that the little pig was "resisting arrest" by responding, "Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin."

With more effort and noise, the door was knocked down.  The little pig was startled by all the commotion and reached for his handgun on the nightstand, but it was too late.  With great speed, the wolves had made their way to the bedroom and before the pig knew what hit him he was knocked unconscious by the blow from the butt of a wolf's rifle.

No evidence was ever found that even remotely connected this respected member of the community with the drug trade.  However, the fate of the second little pig was worse than it was for the first.  You see, at the same time they broke into his home a second pack broke into his auto shop.  Though no drugs were found here either, they found fender washers in his parts room.

So the wolves turned the second little pig over to a much more ravenous pack of wolves: the ATF.  This jack booted pack of wolves charged the little pig with manufacturing suppressors illegally.  His business was destroyed, his property was seized, and he was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison as a felon.

Well, the day came when the pack wolves decided to come to the third little pig's brick house.  No longer did the wolves feel the need to hide under the security of night.  No public outcry had come of the previous attacks.  The courts, fearful that the wolves could become endangered species if pigs were allowed to fight back, made paper laws protecting the wolves and denying the pigs the Constitutional rights.  The media even sided with the wolves (perhaps these sheep were afraid of being eaten as well).

Though they now hunted in the day, they still used the same pack tactics.  As the wolves came to the door one whispered, "Open the door and let me in."

"Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin," was what the wolves initially reported to have heard from within the home - though this story is changing daily.

As before, though with greater effort, the wolves broke down the door.  And upon seeing the little pig, having been roused from his sleep only seconds before, ready to defend his family's lives from the assailants, the wolves murdered the third little pig.

Little is known to this day why the third little pig's home was attacked by wolves that morning.  Some reports suggest that not all the wolves were indigenous to the area.

One thing is for certain though:  pigs appear to be on the menu of not a few wolf packs.  And as long as this holds true, no little pig can live happily ever after.

Two From American Mercenary

Time to Start Shooting lays out the ramifications of recent events.  Since you have no right to security in your home (according to an increasing number of courts, anyway), and if you resist unlawful entry, you will be killed.  Having recognized these facts, what is left to the man who will not be subjugated?

"While we made gains in the courts for the 2nd Amendment the death of the 4th has given the only recourse to citizens is to break the law by resisting unlawful entry."
"But when laws allow the protection of one class of people over the detriment of another class of people, is it not time to change the system?  Soap Box, Ballot Box, and last is the cartridge box."

Targeting Packet discusses freely available open source intel, as well as boots-on-the-ground intelligence gathering methods.

Both are well worth the read.

Welcome to the insurgency.

Come back home from the box safely, American Mercenary.  I admire your candid and brutally honest view and your philosophy towards your military service.  It is respectable and more honest than many others' view of serving.  I salute you, not as ex-NCO to officer, but man-to-man.

I enjoy your perspectives and learning from your experiences fighting as the "Goliath" against an insurgency.

Hurry back, though.  The citizens of this nation may need your skills and the reverse application of them sooner than any of us think.

Resist.

Targeting Packet

If someone were to create a targeting packet, they would need information.  I would like to demonstrate how the use of "open source intelligence" is used to drive targeted operations by terrorist cells.

Say La Raza or Al Quaeda were interested in Sheriff Dupnik as a symbolic target.  A quick google search gives a first name, Clarence.  A quick check of the Pima County Sheriff's web page gives us a middle initial, W.  A quick search of spokeo.com gives us four addresses for Clarence Dupnik in Tucson, AZ

Plugging those addresses into google maps and the first address 1750 E Benson Hwy Tucson, AZ 85714 goes to the Pima County Sheriff's office.  Not a home address, obviously.  Second address, 4311 E Holmes St  Tucson, AZ 85711 points to a residential neighborhood and realtor.com gives us a streetview photo.  The second address is associated with the middle initial W.  The third address gives us another Sheriff Office.  The fourth address gives us a government building.

So we have the targets home address.  Big deal right?  Then you need to map out where that is, using OAKOC, for Obstacles, Avenues of Approach, Key Terrain, Observation and Fields of Fire, and Cover and Concealment.  A good way to do that is with Google Maps.

Overhead maps are fine for an initial recon of your objective, but considerations become very different depending on the method of targeting.  Is it "kinetic" like a "kill/capture/SWAT" mission?  Or is it non-lethal like Code Pink/SEIU/Progressive Zombie/Communist lawn demonstrations?  If it is non-lethal, you can start planning either demonstrations or dog shit throwing exercises now.

If the objective on the more kinetic side then you need to start confirming this initial intel.  When does the target leave for work?  When does the target arrive at work?  What route does the target drive?  What stops does the target make along the way?

What kinetic options are you considering?  A direct shot would have to be short range because of the flat urban terrain.  Possibly a kitty corner shot from the southwest or west.  A quick search of homes on the market shows a few for sale that might have a clear loophole for a shot of the target at residence.

However, the more you know the greater your options.  The Russians have killed with an umbrella modified to inject a pellet of poison.  If the target happened to have a favorite coffee stand a simple bomb attached to a car would do it.  To get the target on the move a Vehicle Born IED along his drive to or from work.  Google maps shows that the target's route to and from the main office crosses at least one freeway and two major arterial streets.

But this is almost as far as you can go with internet based open source intelligence.  From here on out you need to actively gather intelligence.  Drive by the target residence and photograph the vehicles in the driveway.  Then try to match the vehicle to one parked at the Sheriff's office.  Get a match, and observe from different positions along the suspected line of travel.  Not a lot of coffee shops in the targets neighborhood, but a dog walker wouldn't raise suspicion in the early morning or late evening.  During the day a house hunter or realtor wouldn't be out of place.

In Iraq the terrorists simply started mapping out common routes for IED emplacement, they didn't have any of this open source intel to start with.  Keeping your eyes and ears open for intelligence of opportunity will pay off.

What does this little exercise tell you?  First off you can start a targeting packet from open source intelligence but to make something go off without a hitch you need to do actual intel gathering.  The US military uses all sorts of expensive toys in addition to direct surveillance to accomplish this.  Terrorists rely mainly on specialty cells of intel gatherers who have no known ties to other cells.

For you?  Well if you aren't a conspicuous public figure you probably don't have much to worry about from La Raza or Al Quaeda, but changing up your driving routine is smart no matter who you are.  To avoid being a target you don't need to be invincible, just a harder target than someone else.  And if you don't think that some piddly terrorist group is looking for opportunities to conduct operations against Americans, well think again.

Ghosts from our past...

from Market Ticker

...My parents are finding out now that they should have been listening to Ronald Reagan in 1964. And now, 47 years later, they finally understand...they have been robbed, lied to, and now all but shoveled into a pit penniless by LBJ and Co...

Do you understand YET??

Unusual request....

Dear President Obama:

I am writing today with a somewhat unusual request. First and foremost, I will be asking that you return America to its August 20th, 1959 borders so that Hawaii is no longer a state and you are no longer a citizen.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Lest anyone believe this is a real note from Bibi to obama let me assure you that it is satire.

Stay safe.

Remember Jose Guerena

H/T to Virginia Rifleman.

Really, how many shots did you militarized thugs need?

Go ahead, tell me that wasn't murder.

All you " NO MORE FREE WACOS " folks...

TELL ME THAT WASN'T ANOTHER WACO.

Tell me that wasn't a flat out hit, executed with no good reason, no legal justification, by a state-sponsored terrorist cell.

If this government, the one who authorized and has thus far refused to prosecute these people, all the way up the chain of command, has not proven itself worthy of hatred and resistance, then it never will.

I would appreciate it greatly if someone local to Mr. Guerena would provide the community with names and addresses of the murderers on this so called "SWAT" team.

They need to be confronted in every day life, they need to be refused goods and services, they need to be shunned.  They need to be held accountable, if not by the government, then by the people.

Time to start shooting

As I spend my last few days getting ready to get on the big iron bird and go to A'stan, I read Graybeard's comment that the death of the 4th Amendment means that we can't hide Jews in the Attic anymore.

And he is right.  While we made gains in the courts for the 2nd Amendment the death of the 4th has given the only recourse to citizens is to break the law by resisting unlawful entry.

I guess when there is no "unlawful entry" (and a recourse to the civil, not criminal courts ensures that) then all actions by the police become lawful, or at least "non-criminal."  So now the only recourse for moral action is to resist police officers who come to your door with no warrant or exigent circumstances.  And if a cop dies, you will be charged with murder.  But if you die, the cop will have no consequences.

But what if the cops were coming to take away the Jews in your Attic?  What if the law no longer allows you to be both law abiding and a moral person?  I would rather people choose morality over legality.  Everything the Nazis did was all perfectly legal by their own laws, and had they not lost WWII it would have been like the countless other government sponsored genocides throughout history that have never had anyone held accountable.

It is not moral for a swat team to shoot an innocent citizen 71 times and let him bleed out while an ambulance waits outside for an hour and fourteen minutes.  Not one of those murderers will face any sort of justice.  Lon Horiuchi is still walking around a free man.

I'm sorry Mr. Ayoob, the days when the police were a source of security is long gone.  The "few bad apples" have managed to co-opt the system to protect themselves from consequences.  I can't see any other recourse than to conclude that anyone who shoots to resist is acting in a moral, if unlawful, manner.

But when laws allow the protection of one class of people over the detriment of another class of people, is it not time to change the system?  Soap Box, Ballot Box, and last is the cartridge box.
